WestScriptFeatures
Features
Profiles that double as blogs, posts built for code, tags across writers, RSS follows and reviewed replies.
WestScript is a place for developers to write things down: the tutorial you wish existed last week, the bug that took two days, the build log of a side project. Here is what a writer gets, what a reader gets, and what we decided to leave out.
Your space
A profile that is also your blog
Every invited writer gets an address of their own. It works like a profile page on a social app, but everything on it is yours to arrange.
Profile at
/your-handle/A cover banner, your portrait, a short bio and an optional link to your website or portfolio, followed by every post you have published.
A pinned introduction
An optional pinned card at the top of your profile for a reading order, a series index or a few words about what you build.
Categories you name
Group posts by language, framework, project or series. Each category gets its own page and its own tab on your profile.
Follow by RSS
The Follow button on every profile is a real RSS feed at
/your-handle/feed.xml. Readers subscribe in any feed reader, no account involved.
Posts
Posts built for code
Developer writing mixes prose, commands and output. The post page is designed around that mix.
Readable code blocks
Monospaced type on a dark panel with indentation kept exactly as written. Long lines scroll inside the block, and a copy button appears when JavaScript is available.
Tags that connect posts
Add tags like
#rustor#debugging. Each tag has a page that gathers posts on that subject from every writer on the site.Contents for long posts
Posts with several sections get a contents card next to the article, so readers can jump straight to the step they need.
Covers, images and accents
Optional cover images and inline screenshots are hosted on the site. Vietnamese and other accented text renders correctly in titles, code comments and replies.
Discussion
Threads that stay useful
Comments are where corrections, follow-up questions and better approaches turn up. We keep that space readable.
Reply with a name
Anyone can write a reply with just a name and a message. There is no account to create and no email field.
Reviewed before posting
Guest replies wait for a moderator before they appear. Replies that are never approved are deleted automatically after 30 days.
Left out
What you will not find here
Some features are missing on purpose, and we intend to keep it that way.
No tracking
No analytics, no advertising, no tracking pixels and no third-party scripts. Readers get no cookies at all.
No paywall, no login wall
Every published post is free to read without signing in. Pages are plain server-rendered HTML and load quickly on a phone.
Writing here is by invitation
There is no public sign-up. If you have something to write about, tell us through the contact page and pick Request a writer invite. Whatever you publish stays yours.
